Terms of Service

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Service Description

Churn is a credit card optimization tool available as a web application (getchurn.app) and a mobile application. Churn helps users identify which credit card to use for various spending categories, track card benefits and churning deadlines, and discover new card opportunities. Churn provides informational tools based on user-provided data and publicly available credit card reward structures. These Terms of Service apply to both the web and mobile applications.

Not Financial Advice

Churn is not a financial advisor, credit counselor, bank, or licensed financial professional. The information, recommendations, simulations, ratings, and calculations provided by Churn — including but not limited to the Card Ratings, Monte Carlo Simulation, Missed Rewards analysis, Annual Fee ROI analysis, and chatbot responses — are for informational and educational purposes only and should not be construed as financial advice. Card terms, interest rates, reward structures, and benefits may change at any time without notice. Always verify current terms directly with the card issuer before making any financial decisions.

You are solely responsible for your financial decisions, including which credit cards to apply for, hold, or cancel. Churn does not guarantee any specific rewards, savings, or outcomes. Credit card applications may affect your credit score. Simulated projections (such as Monte Carlo results) are statistical estimates based on historical patterns and user-provided data, not predictions of future outcomes.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some links to card issuers on Churn may be affiliate links, which can earn Churn a commission if you apply and are approved, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are labelled where they appear. Affiliate relationships never affect how Churn ranks or recommends cards: recommendations are ordered by estimated value to you, based on your cards and spending. See the advertiser disclosure.

Churn Pro Subscriptions

Churn Pro is a paid plan. On getchurn.app it is billed by Stripe; in the mobile app it is billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the price shown when you subscribed until you cancel. The lifetime plan is a one-time payment.

Free trial. If you have never had Churn Pro before (on the web, in the mobile app, or as Lifetime), a monthly or annual plan bought on getchurn.app starts with a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, the plan starts and you are charged. Switching plans during your free trial ends the trial and starts the paid plan.

Switching and cancelling. On getchurn.app you can switch between monthly and annual, or cancel, in Settings (Manage Billing). A switch takes effect at once and is prorated: unused time on your current plan is credited toward the new one. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, or, during a free trial, until the trial ends, and you aren't charged again. If you buy Lifetime on getchurn.app while you have a monthly or annual plan there, that plan stops renewing; the time already paid for isn't refunded. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are switched and cancelled in your device's subscription settings, under Apple's and Google's rules.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Pro stays active for 7 days after the first failed payment while you update your card (Manage Billing on getchurn.app, or your App Store or Google Play payment method). If the payment still hasn't gone through after those 7 days, Pro stops until it does.

Refunds and chargebacks. On getchurn.app, a full refund of your current billing period's payment, or of a Lifetime purchase, ends Pro at once, and a refunded subscription is cancelled. A partial refund, or a refund of an earlier billing period, on getchurn.app doesn't change your plan. If you dispute a getchurn.app charge for your current plan with your bank (a chargeback), Pro ends at once and the subscription is cancelled; Lifetime access ends too, and comes back if the dispute is decided in our favour. A refund from Apple or Google ends the Pro that purchase gave you at once, but Churn doesn't cancel the App Store or Google Play subscription: turn off renewal in your device's subscription settings, or it may renew and Pro starts again. App Store and Google Play refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies. If you think you were charged in error, contact support@getchurn.app.

Linked Bank Accounts

Linking a bank or card account is optional. Connections are provided by Plaid: by linking an account you authorize Plaid to retrieve your account and transaction data and share it with Churn, as described in our Privacy Policy and subject to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. Churn only reads this data; it can't move money. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.

User Responsibilities

By using Churn (web or mobile), you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the cards you hold and your spending estimates
  • Make your own independent decisions regarding credit card applications and usage
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share your account with others
  • Use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes only
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service in an automated manner
  • Not misuse the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

Data Accuracy

Churn maintains a database of credit card reward structures and benefits sourced from publicly available information. While we strive to keep this data current and accurate, we cannot guarantee that all card information is up to date at all times. Card issuers may change terms, reward rates, benefits, or annual fees without notice. Each card entry includes a "last verified" date indicating when the information was last confirmed; data may have changed since that date. Always confirm current terms with the card issuer before making decisions based on information from Churn.

Location Services (Mobile and Web)

Churn offers a location-based feature that suggests spending categories based on your current location. This feature uses your device's geolocation capabilities and third-party reverse geocoding (OpenStreetMap/Nominatim). Location detection is approximate and may not accurately identify the merchant or category. You should always verify the suggested category before relying on a card recommendation. Churn is not responsible for incorrect card suggestions resulting from inaccurate location detection.

Push Notifications (Mobile)

The mobile app may send push notifications about churning deadlines, annual fee dates, and other time-sensitive information. These notifications are informational reminders and should not be the sole basis for financial decisions. Notification timing and delivery depend on your device and network conditions, and Churn cannot guarantee that notifications will be delivered at any specific time. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Churn and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, rewards, or data, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. This includes, without limitation, any damages arising from:

  • Inaccurate or outdated card data in our database
  • Recommendations that do not result in expected rewards
  • Missed deadlines or benefits due to reliance on the service
  • Credit score impacts from card applications
  • Service interruptions or data loss
  • Inaccurate location detection or category suggestions
  • Delayed or undelivered push notifications
  • Simulations, ratings, or chatbot responses that do not reflect actual outcomes

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings, on the web or in the mobile app. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy, linked banks are disconnected, and a Churn Pro subscription billed on getchurn.app is cancelled at once (the rest of the current billing period is not refunded). Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel that in your device's subscription settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Churn after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you should discontinue use of the service.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or the use of Churn shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable arbitration authority in the jurisdiction where the service operator is located.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
